Notes on the material

Highly tempered steel is used for the production of these thin-walled and therefore lightweight steel cylinders. Due to the thin wall thickness, the bottles are lighter than normal steel bottles for the same content.

The blank is then immersed in a liquid, hot zinc bath. In this process, the zinc forms a metallurgical solid bond with the steel and protects the bottles from corrosion better than is possible with any other external processing. There is no need for a paint job. The hot dipped bottles are shiny silver/grey in new condition with various colour nuances and irregular surface structure. The bottles will darken after a short time.

This is not a pure coating of the surface, but an alloy. Even with scratches and other defects, the corrosion resistance is still given and the manufacturer's warranty is still valid even then.

After the bottles are taken out of the hot zinc bath, they drip off and sometimes form noses, which are then removed manually. Apparently, this can lead to bare spots or scratches / abrasions on the lower third of the bottles. These do not impair the functionality or corrosion resistance and do not constitute a product defect. There are countless testimonials and now several years of tests with these bottles in salt water and they do not rust at all.

Since I fill my bottles and appliances exclusively myself, there is no current TÜV on it.
